Buyer & seller safety
Practical guidance for buying and selling on GetFarmLinked during beta.
GetFarmLinked is a marketplace platform that helps buyers and sellers connect. We do not inspect, own, guarantee, transport, or take custody of livestock or equipment. During beta, buyers and sellers may arrange payment and transportation directly. Online payments and transportation support are planned future features. Buyers and sellers are responsible for confirming animal health, ownership, movement requirements, transportation, payment terms, and all applicable rules before completing a sale. Nothing here is legal, veterinary, tax, or financial advice.
How GetFarmLinked works today
GetFarmLinked is a marketplace platform that helps farm buyers and sellers find each other. During beta, listings are free and admin-reviewed, prices are fixed (no auctions or bidding), and buyers and sellers connect directly. Online payments and transportation coordination are planned future features and are not live yet.
Tips for buyers
- Review the full listing and photos, and ask the seller for anything that's missing.
- Confirm health and vaccination status, age, weight, and any registration papers before you commit.
- For livestock, ask about health papers (CVI) and any movement requirements for your state.
- Inspect in person or arrange a trusted inspection when possible.
- Agree on payment method, pickup, and transportation terms in writing before money changes hands.
- Be cautious of deals that seem too good to be true or sellers who pressure you to pay quickly.
Tips for sellers
- Describe your livestock or equipment accurately, including any known issues.
- Add clear, recent photos — complete listings attract serious buyers.
- Keep your health records, ownership, and paperwork ready for buyers who ask.
- Confirm payment has cleared before releasing animals or equipment.
Livestock movement & compliance
Animal movement rules vary by state and species. Health papers, certificates of veterinary inspection (CVI), and permits may be required for some movements.
- Confirm current requirements with a licensed veterinarian and your state animal health officials.
- GetFarmLinked does not verify legal movement eligibility, health records, or ownership.
- Nothing on this site is legal, veterinary, tax, or financial advice.
